progress reports

Each child receives a progress report at the end of the school year or upon request from their future school. The schools to which Windmill children move on to for their continued education find our reports a valuable asset by knowing the level each child has attained and thereby seamlessly continuing your child’s education.

work folders

We do not hand out all work performed by the children every day or every week. Instead we create a work folder for each child based on the themes we have had and the one-to-one sessions the children have with the teacher. This work folder is provided at the end of the school year or when a child leaves.

parental representative

We offer the parents to nominate a ‘Parent Representative’ for each class, this is a purely voluntary post and parents should volunteer themselves for the position. The parents representative provides a channel of communication for your views and comments on the operation of the Windmill to the director and staff.

Parents of Windmill children are also encouraged to socialise together and the parent representative plays a key role in this by coordinating coffee mornings / afternoons and social evenings.

how to help at home

  • Encourage your child to talk about what he/she is doing at school. Ask what he/she did when he/she arrived at school and what happened just before he came home. Ask about the story the teacher told or read.
  • Maintain a predictable schedule at home so your child is used to knowing what will happen and when it will happen.
  • Relax. Remember - no matter what is going on in the classroom, the teacher and assistants are always there to guide, facilitate, and encourage your child's learning experiences.
